My name is Shua Allen and I lead worship in Asheville, NC. I just purchased my first banjo and am anticipating a super evening of picking & grinning.
1. What does worship mean to you? Whenever I worship in genuine sincerity, the heart of God is turned toward His people. He inclines His ear (anthropomorphism lavished heavily), and listens intently. I fulfill my greatest purpose on this planet when I obediently give of ALL I AM & ALL I HAVE in response to the love of God. 3. What causes you to worship? Slowing down and becoming more aware of the present reality that I am created in the image and likeness of Almighty God for His pleasure makes me want to lay everything else aside for the sole purpose of pleasing Him. 4. How is worship displayed in your life? From the perspective of a modern lead-worshipper, I think we use singing as our primary form of worship in our churches today merely because it's something that we can all do TOGETHER. Unity is heavily emphasized in the New Testament. Singing is the most often used worship form in my corporate settings. Personally, I practice serving strangers as my worship to God. 5. What is your favorite song and why? "It Is Well With My Soul:" Horatio Spafford had the heart that I will spend the rest of my life striving for--to be in a place of suffering much like Job's and still praise like that...incredible...& inspiring. |
