Name: Tom Curley Gender: Male Location: Pensacola, FL Age: 47 Involved in church music since age 14; I have a passion for the local church and to see God's people brought into His presence!
I love training and raising up new worship leaders. Our church currently has twelve worship leaders that rotate among our different worship venues as well as assisting other churches in our city that have worship leading needs. I am blessed to have a wonderful wife, Leslie, and two daughters and a son-in-law. We love to have fun together! 1. What does worship mean to you? Worship is all the ways to say "Thank You" to God for all He has done for us! We can thank Him silently or loudly, individually, or corporately. 2. What do you think happens when you worship? I begin to gain Heaven's perspective. I forget about problems as I focus on the Problem Solver, I loose sight of the need as I focus on the Provider, my sickness seems smaller as I focus on my Healer, and my burdens are lifted as I worship my Deliverer! 3. What causes you to worship? I am most inspired to worship when I see others worship during a hard time in their life. We live in an area that has been hard-hit by hurricanes. One week after Hurricane Ivan blew through, we were having a church service. I knew that one of our families had lost their home, yet they came to church that day. As we sang Tim Hughes' "When the Tears Fall," they stepped out and came to the altar, lifted their hands to God, and worshipped through tears. That picture of "in everything, give thanks" inspired me and caused me to worship even more passionately! 4. How is worship displayed in your life? Worship transforms us into givers instead of takers, optimists instead of pessimists, and those who place more value on people rather than things. We become like what we worship and you can easily spot a Jesus worshiper by their servant's heart! 5. What is your favorite song and why? I currently love singing "O Happy Day" (Steve Fee's version).
