5Questions with Jared Anderson

Name:  Jared Anderson
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Age:  28

Jared Anderson is a worship leader and songwriter based at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. As well as being apart of the Desperation Band, he is a recording artist with Integrity Music and has written worship songs such as "Rescue", "Amazed", and “Hear us from Heaven”.

Jared and his wife Megan live in Colorado Springs with their 3 children Everett, Beckett, and Francie.

1. What does worship mean to you?

Worship to me is the practice of pleasing God. We are made aware through the stories and writings of Scripture what the nature of God is, what He likes and dislikes, and how he responds to people who call on Him. This practice is done through study and devotion. It is a posture of the heart that leads to outer demonstrations that produce truth and beauty.

2. What do you think happens when you worship?

When I worship I submit myself to God, and God works on behalf of his kingdom in and around me.

3. What causes you to worship?

The Spirit of God draws me to worship. God initiates, enables, and receives my worship.

4. How is worship displayed in your life?

Worship leads to holiness. Holiness was perfectly communicated in Christ Jesus. His nature becomes evidenced in me. This looks like the fruit of the Spirit.

5. What is your favorite song and why?

Right now my favorite song is “How deep the Father’s love for us”. I’m learning that meaning of life is found in my proximity to the love of Christ.

"Leads to holiness"
written by conradical, May 31, 2008
Jared.. i like the "leads to holiness" especially now since I've been reading 2Timothy (i think 20) where it says (and I paraphrase) "In a house there are things made of silver and gold and things made of clay.. and if we cleanse ourselves we will be like the things made out of silver and gold and be found pleasing..."

It is that path to holiness, it is that path to sanctification that we strive for and worship leads us down that path.
