Elman Authement is a husband/ father/ singer/ songwriter/ worshipper and comedian who is very passionate about everything. I do everything wholeheartedly, never passive or apathetic.
Even if I'm messing up, I can promise you, I gave it my all! As one of
my friends once told me, "You're a wild man, just do a Google on Elman
Authement, you'll see."
1. What does worship mean to you?
Worship is a lifestyle that I give to Almighty God by serving in His Kingdom. My worship is my obedience to His calling on my life. I read this statement somewhere and I think it best describes worship. Worship is not the “sound of music” but the “sound of the heart.” Jesus made a statement in Matt. 15 that defines a misconception we have about worship. Mat 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. Because I'm a songwriter, I know I've been guilty of worshipping worship music.
2. What do you think happens when you worship?
I am changed in His presence, whether I'm in a church service playing music or as I defined worship above, living out my calling. Life begets more life. I pour out life, I receive life.
3. What causes you to worship?
Worship should more an act of my will although there are "things" like situations, events, and circumstances that affect my worship and that could be positive or negative. That's why I'm not sure if "cause" is a good word for me. Worship has to be a choice, not a cause/effect action.
4. How is worship displayed in your life?
No greater love has a man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. Worship is love in action and it would take chapters to define how that action is carried out. My worship is my obedience to what God is telling me to do. That may not be your worship so I have to be careful not to judge you by the standards placed in my life.
5. What is your favorite song and why?
I have a favorite song? If right now I had to pick a song to listen to out of the 3000 songs in my IPOD, it would be Savior King (United's version).
